“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

An amazing story about what happens when passion and word of mouth marketing combine:
The Azuka Bom Fitness Phenomenon. By Meg Roberts.
Mom: “What r u and Katy texting about??”
Me: “You are so nosey!”
Mom: “I am ur mother.”
Me: “I am aware.”
Mom: “What’s happening in ur life??”
Me: “Well, I was in Jersey last weekend for Kim’s bachelorette party. This weekend I’m taking a bus up to Boston for Lisa’s bday.”
Mom: “I mean with g-u-y-s.”
Me: “You are worse than Katy!”
Mom: “No haha to it. Tell me.”
When I was about three years old, my neighbor’s dog was in love with me. Seriously, IN LOVE with me. So much so that my neighbors had to spell out the name, letter by letter, of the 1987 Hurricane that ended up causing significant damage to the Dominican Republic and Bermuda. They even had to mute the news whenever the anchors would start talking about Hurricane Emily. If they didn’t get to the mute button in time, this would happen…
Machen, their adorable Miniature Schnauzer, would dash to the front door and wait expectantly. For what, you ask? For “Emily,” the sweet and energetic little girl who had quickly become his very best friend. Sometimes, the neighbors had to resort in calling me over to their house, simply to appease Machen with my presence.
Fast forward 23+ years and Tropical Storm Emily 2011 is in the news. Needless to say, my mind immediately wandered back to my old canine buddy.
Kazaxe is like Zumba on steroids, and there’s a 100% free class on the National Mall today. What an awesome idea—I’m definitely there in a few hours!

A conversation (via text messages) between me & my amazing mother:
Me: Happy Belated 20th Anniversary! I’m so glad we married Mickey 20 years and a day ago!
My Amazing Mother: Isn’t that the truth?!? In a way it was appropriate that the three of us spent last weekend together. Love you!
Some background context: After my mother divorced my father, she always said that she “didn’t need a man.” Then she found Mickey. When she met Mickey she made it clear to him that I was her first priority and she didn’t need him to be happy and successful in life. They had this conversation on their very first (blind, might I add) date. So when he proposed (after getting my permission, of course) and they got married, my mom said that “we” married Mickey. The three of us (now +2) have been conquering the world together ever since…
